Lisa M. Harris hails from San Diego but has lived in New Orleans, Los Angeles, New York, and New Hampshire and has been a Georgia resident for more than a decade. Lisa has always had two intense loves: the law and the arts. Fervently passionate about her work, Lisa first showed her aptitude for litigation and public speaking by winning regional and state public speaking and debate competitions early on. She attended Tulane University as an undergraduate intent on going to law school, and then attended California State University, Northridge, where she was awarded a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance/Opera.
Her performance background has served her extremely well as a litigator. A graduate of Mercer Law School, Lisa Harris is a dynamic presence in the courtroom as well as a stellar negotiator. She earned regional recognition in competitive negotiation and speaking and was an award-wining member of the Mercer Moot Court and Negotiation Teams. After law school Lisa immediately began her relationship with criminal law as the Habeas Clerk and Law Clerk to the Superior Court Judges of the Southwestern Circuit. She has continued to focus on criminal defense in both State and Federal court handling trial level cases as well as appeals. Lisa has represented law enforcement officers, members of the miltary, attorneys, doctors, teachers, and people from all walks of life. She has come before courts in dozens of Georgia counties.
Lisa has made multiple television appearances discussing various aspects of our Georgia legal system. In her past life, Lisa was an opera singer, magazine editor, actress, hunter, singing waitress, and animal rescue volunteer. She is a member of the Board of Directors for The Chelsea Foundation, Inc., a childhood literacy foundation, and was elected Secretary in 2013. She enjoys writing music, traveling, and brushing up on her conversational Spanish skills.
